Conference Description
The Additive Manufacturing of Soft Materials GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
Additive manufacturing (AM) and soft materials are at the forefront of polymer science. Commodity plastics are foundational to modern society with major impacts across all industries. Additive manufacturing is a relatively new concept to polymer processing, enabling the design of complex geometries to further impact societal and industrial needs. The combination of modern polymer chemistry and additive manufacturing drives next-generation polymer processing methods to further innovation in polymer applications, sustainability, and impact. This meeting will bring together scientists from varying disciplines and interests to exchange challenges, views, and expertise in an effort to drive further discoveries. This two-day seminar is a premier, international scientific conference focused on presenting innovative research surrounding polymer additive manufacturing. The goal is to increase camaraderie among graduate student and post-doctoral (postdoc) researchers and create scientific communities with lasting collaborations and friendships. The seminar program includes a wide range of speakers from diverse backgrounds, focusing on the latest developments in polymer AM with an emphasis on student development and networking. The poster sessions provide an opportunity for dialogue with new and familiar faces. Additionally, afternoon free time and communal meals enable networking opportunities with leaders in the field to further drive innovation.
