Conference Description

A number of stimulating new advances in the renin angiotensin field highlight the myriad roles of this important hormonal system in disease. The recent discovery of the renin receptor and the growing importance of ACE2 add new excitement to the field. In addition, new clinical trials and animal studies clearly link the renin angiotensin system to the progression of diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular and renal disease. The planned sessions in this conference maintain our tradition of exploring advances in molecular mechanisms, translational studies in animals, and application to human disease. This meeting affords an opportunity to interact with international leaders in angiotensin research and to discover the most exciting new advances in all aspects of the renin angiotensin system. In past meetings, discussion has been lively as researchers exchange their diverse perspectives on new advances.
