Molecular, Cellular and Systemic Contributors to Atherosclerosis

The Gordon Research Seminar on Atherosclerosis is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists from different specializations and with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas in the field of atherosclerosis research.

This meeting will focus on recent insights into atherogenesis and underlying mechanisms including innate and adaptive immune responses, perturbed lipid metabolism and clearance, endothelial dysfunction, microbiota in atherosclerosis, new genetic risk factors, non-coding RNAs, and how new therapeutic strategies can be derived from these findings. Dr. Filip Swirski will give a scientific keynote lecture. A special mentorship session focusing on NIH funding opportunities and including insights about the grant writing and reviewing process specifically for new and early career investigators will conclude the meeting.
