Conference Description
The Autophagy in Stress, Development and Disease GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
The 2026 Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Autophagy in Stress, Development, and Disease offers an engaging and supportive environment for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career scientists to share novel research findings and innovative ideas. This year’s seminar will spotlight emerging mechanisms of general autophagy and selective autophagy from autophagosome formation to lysosome function - in both healthy and disease-related contexts. Discussions will cover fundamental autophagy biology, recent advances in selective autophagy pathways, and the implications of autophagy dysfunction in human disease. To support the career development of young investigators, we will also feature a mentorship session exploring diverse scientific career trajectories within and beyond academia, with insights from a diverse panel of experts.
An outline of the program components for this GRS is displayed below. The seminar chair is currently developing their detailed program schedule, which will include the speakers they select from submitted abstracts, in addition to any additional components outlined below. The detailed program will be available by January 13, 2026. Please check back for updates.
