The Gordon Research Conference on Biointerface Science is motivated by the rationale that there is an urgent need to increase the understanding of interactions between biomolecules and surfaces, and the behavior of complex macromolecular systems at materials interfaces, driven by the important role these interactions play in the fields of biology, biotechnology, diagnostics, and medicine. The goal of this GRC is to create a conference that will be the premier venue to discuss fundamental research that intersects Biology and artificial surfaces by bringing together chemists, physicists, biologists and engineers who would otherwise not intersect on the conference circuit in a setting that promotes cross-disciplinary fertilization of new ideas.
