Bridging the Gaps Between Biology, Chemistry and Functional Materials

The Gordon Research Seminar on Biointerface Science is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

Biointerface Science brings together researchers who are inspired by phenomena that occur at the cell membrane in both living and synthetic systems. The questions that arise from this are far reaching, and range from the study of natural and artificial membrane structures, cell-material and cell-cell interactions, artificial cells and the origin of life, nanomedicine, and biomedical devices. The field spans enormous differences in scale, complexity, and methodology; thus this meeting aims to foster collaboration and discussion towards answering these important research questions. A special focus of the 2018 meeting will be on the development of scientific writing skills to help young researchers communicate more effectively.
