Conference Description

The Gordon Research Seminar on Biology of Acute Respiratory Infection is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

There are many bacterial, viral, and fungal respiratory pathogens that have become global concerns due to their increasing incidence and/or epidemic-like spread. This GRS will focus on understanding the novel mechanisms that these emerging respiratory pathogens use to exploit the host's immune system to cause disease, as well as the resistance mechanisms capable of limiting their treatment.

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "Biology of Acute Respiratory Infection" Gordon Research Conference (GRC). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRC in addition to an application for the GRS. Refer to the associated GRC program page for more information.
