Conference Description
The Biology of Spirochetes GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
The fifth edition of the Gordon Research Seminar Biology of Spirochetes will bring together graduate students, post-docs, and early-career researchers to create a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere. GRS is known for its immersive experience, valuable discussion, and experience-sharing environment. We invite you to bring your best work to the table, submit an abstract, and share your data with the field so all attending leave a better scientist than when they arrived. Results at the frontier of knowledge and cutting-edge ideas will be presented, discussed and hopefully new ideas will be ignited.
Join us as we dive deep into understanding these unusual bacteria and navigate through intriguing topics such as genetic manipulation, vector dynamics, epidemiology, pathogenesis, and host-pathogen interactions, adding more pieces to the complex, yet fascinating Spirochete puzzle.
An outline of the program components for this GRS is displayed below. The seminar chair is currently developing their detailed program schedule, which will include the speakers they select from submitted abstracts, in addition to any additional components outlined below. The detailed program will be available by November 14, 2023. Please check back for updates.
