Engineering Therapeutic Biomaterials

The Gordon Research Seminar on Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering is a unique forum. Graduate students, postdocs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education, will present their latest research –experiments, theoretical models and computational simulations– on materials that interact with biological systems. The focus of this meeting is to highlight a broad range of biomaterials to augment or replace a natural function. We will exchange cutting edge ideas on biomaterials that can control spatial and temporal presentation of biological signals for regenerative medicine, controlling cell fate, and manipulation of other biological processes. Additionally, there will be a Science Careers panel at the end of the meeting featuring speakers in industry (start-ups and established companies), government agencies, and science communication, who will describe their transition from their academic positions (PhD or postdoc) into to their current role to provide tips for navigating careers outside of academia.
