Conference Description

The Gordon Research Seminar on Biomineralization is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

Successful research on biomineralization relies on fruitful collaboration and communication among specialists in biology, chemistry, materials science, geology, medicine and physics. The GRS and the associated GRC will capture this interdisciplinary diversity and stimulate integration of the different fields by bringing together biomineralization researchers with a wide variety of skillsets and perspectives. Discussions and presentations will address mineralization processes, growth regulation, biomechanics and structure, and cutting edge technological applications for the study and control of biomineralization in natural, pathological and artificial conditions.

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "Biomineralization" Gordon Research Seminar (GRS). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRC in addition to an application for the GRS. Refer to the associated GRC program page for more information.
