Conference Description
The Biotherapeutics and Vaccines Development GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
The recent pandemic brought with itself key lessons for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical world. One of which is rapid development and manufacturing of the medicines and to have simpler, readily accessible platform for process and product development. Thus, designing advanced technologies to constantly improve the process and product development of biotherapeutics and vaccines is imperative for better global outreach and access. The Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Biotherapeutics and Vaccines Development for 2024 will focus on highlighting novel research from early career researchers from both academia and industry involved in platform and process development to address needs for global access of medicines. Furthermore, one of the key objectives of this seminar is to highlight innovations in on design principles emphasizing the potential to enable rapid product development and tech-transfer the process. This seminar will also aim to feature emerging delivery technologies for nucleic acid and protein therapeutics together with innovations in process and analytical principles. Additionally, this seminar will also target and stimulate discussions toward better process and product understanding for not only enabling continuous manufacturing but also improving the product thermostability for more equitable global distribution and access. This GRS will be followed by a more elaborate GRC aimed at discussing the recent cutting-edge advances in this rapidly moving, exciting field of developing biotherapeutics and vaccines to expand access and outreach to a global population.
An outline of the program components for this GRS is displayed below. The seminar chair is currently developing their detailed program schedule, which will include the speakers they select from submitted abstracts, in addition to any additional components outlined below. The detailed program will be available by January 16, 2024. Please check back for updates.
