Conference Description
The Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Carbon
Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) is a unique forum for graduate
students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience
and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas. This GRS
is the first one in the series of Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage.
The 2017 GRS-CCUS will focus on areas
including the next-generation carbon capture technologies, state-of-the-art
carbon utilization and conversion research, progressive carbon storage advances,
up-to-date process optimization, social science research on the public
perception of CCUS, and relevant market/policy considerations. This seminar is
not only aimed at bringing young scientists involved in climate research
together with cutting edge technologies, but will also offer career guidance
for young professionals with profound mentorship sessions. The collegial
atmosphere with open discussions, interactive poster presentations and outdoor
activities is expected to promote extensive collaborations within the CCUS community.
This GRS-CCUS will be
held in conjunction with a Gordon Research Conference on the same topic (GRC-CCUS).
Ideas and outcomes of individual contributions and of the discussions in GRS-CCUS
are envisioned to be passed onto GRC-CCUS to foster multi-directional communications
between students, faculty and industrial researchers.
