The Cartilage Biology and Pathology GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
Cartilage malformation, traumatic injuries and degenerative diseases affect the lifespan and quality of life of many, but finding treatments remains a challenge. Such challenge needs approaches across disciplines. The Cartilage Biology and Pathology GRC will highlight recent advances and challenges in understanding cartilage biology and diseases from different perspectives. Established scientists and talented new investigators from different disciplines will report and discuss their most recent findings and ideas and will provide insights into the remaining challenges towards understanding the various aspects of cartilage biology, disease, and translational approaches.
The 5-day long conference includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in their fields. Speakers and other participants include developmetal biologists, cell and molecular biologists, geneticists, biochemists, clinicians, engineers, physicists and pharmacists who represent most areas in cartilage biology research. The GRC provides a collegial and stimulating environment and opportunity for researchers across all career stages and disciplines to interact productively, share knowledge, innovative ideas, new resources and cutting-edge technologies of essence to cartilage research. It creates scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to invited talks and talks from selected abstracts with ample time for discussion, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages and afternoon free time and communal meals to provide ample opportunities for mentoring, networking, and collaborations with leaders and rising stars in the field. The preceding GRS is dedicated to and organized by trainees. It is designed to nurture the new generation of investigators by stimulating active participation of students, postdoctoral fellows, young investigators, minorities, and women throughout the conference.
We expect the 2025 GRC on Cartilage Biology and Pathology to inspire researchers to look and work across disciplines to make significant progress towards understanding cartilage biology and the development of treatments for cartilage diseases.
