Conference Description

The Gordon Research Seminar on Catchment Science: Interactions of Hydrology, Biology and Geochemistry is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

Catchment science synthesizes local-scale observations of hydrological, biological and geochemical processes to frame the landscape-scale functioning of ecosystems, but the global diversity of catchments presents a challenge for the development of a unified conceptual framework. This weekend seminar will survey the major research disciplines in catchment sciences and highlight projects that explore the similarity of ecosystem processes across catchments, providing participants with the rudiments to fully engage in major themes presented at the Gordon Conference.

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "Catchment Science: Interactions of Hydrology, Biology and Geochemistry" Gordon Research Conference (GRC). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRC in addition to an application for the GRS. Refer to the associated GRC program page for more information.
