Diverse Fungi as Innovative Models for Understanding Genomics, Pathogenicity and Signaling

The Gordon Research Seminar on Cellular and Molecular Fungal Biology is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

The focus of this meeting is on innovations in genomic, pathogenic and signaling research being conducted using diverse fungal models. The focus of this seminar is to highlight the diversity in the fungal research community by bringing together an international group of early career scientists to be immersed in discussing current fungal biology research with a focus on non-traditional fungal model systems. Studying the biology of diverse fungi provides a broader understanding of fungal pathogenicity, genomics and signaling systems which can be applied to the study of many other organisms including human health outcomes. The innovative research showcased during the seminar will spark lively discussion among diverse trainees. The seminar proceeds the Gordon Research Conference on Cellular and Molecular Fungal Biology and includes talks chosen from the applicant pool, a poster session, and a mentorship panel discussion with leading fungal researchers.
