Liquids in Complex Environments, Driving Reactions, Assembling and Pushed to Their Limits

The Gordon Research Seminar on Chemistry and Physics of Liquids is a unique forum for graduate students, postdocs, and other young scientists with comparable levels of experience to share their frontier research.

This meeting will explore the unique properties of liquids emerging from their interactions at molecular level. Specifically, the meeting will be focused on characterizing the structure and dynamics in a liquid phase to understand the complex nature of liquids. An interdisciplinary selection of speakers will discuss a variety of topics, including but not limited to ionic liquids, glasses, liquids at interfaces, self-assembly, solvation, and driven liquids. Any contribution from either theory, simulation, or experiment is encouraged for the presentation. Four participants will be selected from the poster and oral sessions to give short talks in the ensuing 2019 Liquids GRC. An additional mentorship component will include a panel of professional scientists that will lead a discussion on careers in academia, national laboratories, industry, and international institutions.
