Micro to Macro Chromatin Structure in Epigenetics and Disease

The Gordon Research Seminar on Chromatin Structure and Function is a forum for graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and other junior scientists with comparable education and research interests to share their ideas and recent research findings.

In this meeting, we will discuss the latest advances in chromatin research ranging from the most high resolution structural and microscopic views of chromatin components, integrative genomic approaches for understanding the 3D-architecture of the nucleus and nucleosome dynamics, to the developmental, physiological, and pathophysiological consequences of chromatin function and dysfunction.

After a successful inaugural GRS in 2018, we are inspired to continue the tradition of creating a forum for junior scientists to exchange new findings, innovative ideas and experiences, as well as provide a nurturing environment to ask questions and build a supportive and collaborative network. These skills will be immediately applicable for the accompanying Gordon Research Conference, which will feature a stellar line up of scientists at the forefront of chromatin research. We aim to provide opportunities for enthusiastic scientists to share their work-in-progress through oral presentations and poster presentation highlights. We also provide a mentorship component which focuses on managing up, and strategic planning while navigating transitions throughout scientific careers. Attendees of the GRS will have a chance to contribute to a lively scientific discussion as well as learn about the experiences of scientists at various career stages and career paths. We expect the scientific interactions at the GRS to carry over to the main conference to make it an even more enriching experience for all attendees.
