Conference Description
The Chronobiology GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
The 2025 GRC 'Circadian Clock Dynamics and Physiology Across Biological Scales' will focus on the dynamic processes of circadian clocks and their physiological implications across a spectrum of biological scales. This year’s theme emphasizes the integration of molecular mechanisms with systemic functions, exploring how circadian rhythms govern complex life processes from single cells to whole organisms across the tree of life. Circadian rhythms, central to the regulation of biological functions, are influenced by environmental cues such as light, temperature, and social interactions. These rhythms orchestrate a wide array of physiological responses by regulating gene expression, cellular metabolism, and behavior, thereby aligning biological systems with the Earth’s day-night cycle. Based on complex molecular mechanisms that span all regulatory scales, including gene expression, cell-cell and organ communication, and interactions with the temporal structure of the environment, these processes ultimately lead to complex dynamics and function. Building upon foundational discoveries, this conference will delve into the latest advancements in understanding the genetic and molecular bases of circadian rhythms, while also emphasizing novel technologies to study rhythms in animals and humans, and presenting application domains of chronobiology. Experts and emerging scientists will gather to present cutting-edge research that connects the dots between molecular circadian clocks and their broader physiological roles, as well as the impact of circadian rhythms on health and disease.
The topics, speakers, and discussion leaders for the conference sessions are displayed below. The conference chair is currently developing their detailed program, which will include the complete meeting schedule, as well as the talk titles for all speakers. The detailed program will be available by March 8, 2025. Please check back for updates.
