The Correlated Electron Systems GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
Quantum materials and quantum devices exhibit a range of exotic phenomena driven by the interplay of symmetry, topology, and interactions. Although correlated electron systems have been extensively studied over past decades, recent years have witnessed remarkable progress, with theoretical advances and experimental developments converging more closely than ever to deepen our understanding of these complex and often unexpected phenomena. This seminar will highlight recent developments in theoretical, experimental, and computational methods used to study emergent properties, topology, and entanglement in both real and engineered systems. Aimed at junior researchers, the seminar will provide a platform to explore complementary approaches for addressing both fundamental and emerging questions in the physics of correlated systems in the modern era.
