Conference Description
We are very excited to be bringing
back the Gordon Research Seminar on Crystal Growth and Assembly! The GRS on
Crystal Growth and Assembly is a unique forum for graduate students,
post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and
education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
This meeting will bring together
young scientists across various disciplines to present and discuss topics
ranging from the fundamentals of nucleation and crystal growth, to the
formation of thin films, hierarchical structures, biominerals, and beyond.
In particular, this year at the GRS we will highlight a
historical perspective, starting with classical crystal growth concepts
initiated by Gibbs and Ostwald, among others, and explore how these concepts
have evolved into the present and future of crystal growth research. Another
important focus at this GRS will be networking and
professional development, including academic and non-academic career paths
(industry, policy, management, etc).
We invite students from all sub-disciplines of Crystal
Growth and Assembly to submit abstracts for poster and oral presentations.
