Conference Description
The Electron Donor-Acceptor Interactions GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
For over 50 years the Gordon Research Conference on Electron Donor Acceptor Interactions (GRC EDAI) has been bringing together scientists from different expertise to present recent highlights of their contributions to the field and discuss the frontiers of charge and energy transfer processes from fundamental understanding to a broad range of applications. A solid understanding of the electron and energy transfer at the fundamental level is instrumental in many photoinduced processes, including natural and artificial photosynthesis, solar energy conversion to fuels by photocatalysis and to electricity by photovoltaics.
The 2024 GRC EDAI will feature the latest cutting-edge developments in the field, as well as explore many new directions with their origins in electron transfer. The conference will encompass a broad range of topics related to electron transfer including electronic and nuclear coherence effects, photon energy up- and down-conversion in a variety of molecular and nanostructured systems, singlet fission, electron transfer related to quantum information science, spin dependent processes, photocatalysis and new photovoltaic materials. The conference will assemble speakers and discussion leaders that represent the world leaders in the field with diverse representations, as well as up-and-coming scientists to discuss the latest developments in a highly interactive and collaborative atmosphere. The conference will facilitate many opportunities for established and young scientists to meet, discuss and develop new connections to expand and enrich their professional networks. The involvement young scientists is paramount in expanding and strengthening the EDAI community and they will be given the opportunity to present their work in a highly engaging poster sessions. Several of the posters will be selected for oral presentations during the conference.
The topics, speakers, and discussion leaders for the conference sessions are displayed below. The conference chair is currently developing their detailed program, which will include the complete meeting schedule, as well as the talk titles for all speakers. The detailed program will be available by March 30, 2024. Please check back for updates.
