Conference Description
The Electron Spin Interactions with Chiral Molecules and Materials GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
Since it’s discovery two and a half decades ago, the Chirality Induced Spin Selectivity (CISS) effect has drawn increasing interest from many disciplines and has become a rapidly growing community. In realization of the vast number of new incomers into the field, our first GRS will explore new avenues and materials for using and investigating CISS. Hence this seminar can provide a good introduction for all new incomers to the field as well as present the most recent results that represent the forefront of the field today and its prospects.
Topics will include chiral chemistry and catalysis, theory of chirality induced spin selectivity, spintronics using chiral molecules and structures, CISS in unconventional systems, and new methodologies for studying CISS
An outline of the program components for this GRS is displayed below. The seminar chair is currently developing their detailed program schedule, which will include the speakers they select from submitted abstracts, in addition to any additional components outlined below. The detailed program will be available by June 3, 2025. Please check back for updates.
