Conference Description
The Enzymes, Coenzymes and Metabolic Pathways GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
Enzymes are Nature’s catalysts. Having evolved over millions of years, these proteins perform diverse transformations that can be not only central to life, but also create products challenging to access using synthetic organic chemistry. In studying novel enzyme function, structure, mechanism, and dynamics, we can begin to unravel Nature’s approach to chemistry. The aim of this seminar is to share ground breaking discoveries on native enzymes and their metabolic contexts, and discuss applications and engineering strategies to apply enzymes and metabolic pathways to challenges in green synthesis, energy, and health.
Beyond oral presentations and posters from trainees, this seminar will feature a keynote speaker and panel discussion focused on career paths for enzymologists within industry, academia, biotech, and more. Attendees will forge critical professional connections in a focused and close-knit setting.
