The Green Chemistry GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
The urgency of the current sustainability challenges we are facing is prompting many in chemical sciences to develop practical, economical, safe, and effective solutions. Both the debates over Climate Change and Biodiversity have become central to such discussions and offer a framework to think about green and sustainable chemistry.
The Green Chemistry GRC will present recent discoveries and research efforts in the fields of energy, catalysis, biomass, plastic upcycling, mechanochemistry, and biocatalysis. A focus on assessment, for instance, life cycle assessment (LCA) and real-life deployment, will be central to our discussion. Also, the perspective of researchers outside of chemistry, including social sciences, will be brought in to help inform the green chemistry community of emerging knowledge in various sustainability spaces. We will strive to showcase a diverse group of speakers and discussion leaders able to convey how different lived experiences translate into green innovations.
World-leading experts will share their latest results with ample time for discussion during and between the sessions. The poster sessions will be a central forum for an in-depth discussion of current projects and new concepts. Attendees will select some of the best posters to be presented as short talks.
All participants are strongly encouraged to support the conference objectives of full participation through attendance and the presentation of a poster highlighting their recent work. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are also strongly encouraged to consider attending the Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Green Chemistry (same location), which is geared towards promoting interaction and discussion among junior scientists.
