Conference Description
The Heterocyclic Compounds GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
The synthesis of heterocyclic compounds is at the core of advancements in the preparation of complex molecules for applications towards medicinal chemistry, agrochemistry, and materials sciences. The challenges associated with the synthesis and diversification of heterocyclic compounds serve as a driving force for the development of new chemical methods that provide access to industrially relevant chemical space.
The inaugural Heterocyclic Compounds Graduate Research Seminar (GRS) will bring together trainees (graduate students and postdocs) to present their work in a collaborative environment and build a network with their peers. Academic and industry experts in the field of organic synthesis will serve as discussion leaders and mentors. And, the seminar will provide an opportunity for young scientists to gain valuable early career advice from established scientific leaders.
Preference will be given to attendees that also submit poster and/or oral presentation abstracts. Oral presentations will be selected from the submitted abstracts. Attendees are also encouraged to apply to the corresponding Heterocyclic Compounds GRC.
