Conference Description

The Gordon Research Seminar on High Temperature Corrosion is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

The 2013 GRS will focus on furthering our understanding of high temperature degradation processes commonly encountered in gas turbine engines and other power generation systems. Emphasis will be placed on the fundamentals of high temperature oxidation processes (scale growth mechanisms, minor elements effects, subscale depletion and phase transformations, etc.), deposit-induced attack (including hot corrosion and CMAS-type degradation), mixed gas corrosion, as well as the development of novel high temperature structural materials (refractory alloys, CMC/EBC systems, etc.).

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "High Temperature Corrosion" Gordon Research Conference (GRC). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRC in addition to an application for the GRS. Refer to the associated GRC program page for more information.
