Industrial ecology is about the relations among industry, technology, and the environment. The conference will address the range of industrial ecology research, including:

• innovations in material and energy technologies,
• optimization of industrial processes for efficiency and sustainability.
• environmental impacts of consumers and households,
• voluntary industrial environmental initiatives,
• use of industrial wastes as feedstocks for other industries,
• methods for evaluating the environmental impacts of products, and
• the relation of environmental impacts to social and economic factors.

Each day will have two sessions, one in the morning and one at night, with the afternoons reserved for work with colleagues and for recreation. Each session typically has three speakers, each of whom is asked to present new work, at the frontier of Industrial Ecology, that has not yet been published.
