Diversity of Inhibitory Systems

The inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA and the neurons which produce it play an outsized role of regulation of circuit function and behavior. This GRS program will showcase research on the unique roles of inhibitory neurons across different brain regions, the development and maintenance of inhibitory synapses and circuits, and computational models of inhibition. A major goal of this meeting is to foster discussion and collaborations between junior scientists in the field of inhibitory neuroscience. This meeting will feature a ‘mixer meal’ where trainees across relevant topics will be matched into groups for the first meal of the conference. To increase access for those who have not previously attended, we will be prioritizing applications from countries, demographic groups, and labs that have been underrepresented at this conference. Furthermore, in order to create an engaging and enriching conference, we will be accepting only 1-2 trainees per lab until our representation goals are met.
