Conference Description
ATTENTION: The GRS bus picks up and drops off at the Florence Airport (FLR) only. GRC no longer has bus service to / from the Pisa Airport.
The Liquid Phase Electron Microscopy GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
The Liquid Phase Electron Microscopy GRS is a unique opportunity for graduate students, post-docs, and other early-career researchers to join together to present and exchange research focused on the use of liquid-phase electron microscopy (LPEM). This unique EM modality provides researchers with the capability to observe micro-to-nano scale reactions and specimens with real-time resolution in near-native liquid environments. This meeting will be followed by the LPEM Gordon Research Conference (GRC). We encourage all those applying to the GRS to submit an additional application to the LPEM GRC.
The seminar will include poster sessions and a select number of oral presentations chosen from the submitted abstracts. We encourage attendees to submit abstracts involving LPEM imaging and analysis for topics ranging broadly from materials science, nanomaterial synthesis and dynamics, soft matter, biological life sciences, to radiation, analytical chemistry and operando/in situ electrochemistry. Topics related to method developments in LPEM are also encouraged. The GRS is the perfect opportunity for young investigators to network with their colleagues from around the world and seek future opportunities in their scientific careers.
An outline of the program components for this GRS is displayed below. The seminar chair is currently developing their detailed program schedule, which will include the speakers they select from submitted abstracts, in addition to any additional components outlined below. The detailed program will be available by November 28, 2023. Please check back for updates.
