Conference Description
The Mechanisms of Membrane Transport GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
NOTE: The deadline for abstracts to be considered for an oral presentation has been extended to March 9, 2025.
The goal of this meeting is to highlight new research that increases our understanding of how the transport of ions, small molecules, lipids and peptides occurs in the complex environment of the cell membrane. In particular, the meeting will focus on the biological role of transporters and channels in the context of health and disease. This will be looked at from the perspective of both structural and functional studies. The seminar will further include a mentorship component with talks and discussions with a panel of early-career researchers to provide guidance and insight for young scientists in their early career stages.
