The Gordon Research Seminar on Medicinal Chemistry is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
The focus of this meeting is on building an understanding of foundational principles and strategies that can be applied by medicinal chemists in the pursuit of novel small molecule drugs. Faculty presenters will describe and explain various fundamental medicinal chemistry principles used to generate small molecule leads and optimize their pharmacological, pharmacokinetic, metabolic and toxicological profiles in the pursuit of drug candidates. New concepts and technologies will be presented with examples of successful application to the acceleration of lead generation and drug discovery. This seminar is organized in a workshop format, allowing for close interaction between practicing medicinal chemists and participating attendees. Case studies of drug discovery projects will highlight successful approaches taken to deliver leads, clinical candidates and drugs.
