The Medicinal Chemistry GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
Topics will explore fundamental concepts and strategies in medicinal chemistry coupled with cutting edge technologies. Participants will learn principles of lead generation, hit to lead, lead optimization, pharmacokinetics, dose projections, safety and in silico approaches. All of these concepts are contextualized in our keynote case study which highlights a successful approach taken to deliver a clinical candidate. Our poster presentations will represent the various therapeutic areas and target classes of current interest in academia, biotech and pharma.
The workshop format of this seminar allows for close interaction between experienced lecturers and course participants. Come eager to learn, and you will leave eager to return to the lab and apply your learnings!
Registration support will be available for participants; please contact the chair for details.
