Molecular Mechanisms and Regulation of Sexual Reproduction

The Gordon Research Seminar on Meiosis is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

The primary focus of this meeting is to explore the molecular mechanisms by which diploid progenitor cells give rise to haploid gametes (like sperm or egg) during the specialized cellular division called meiosis. The research presented throughout this seminar will encompass multiple aspects of meiosis through the use of various model organisms and novel experimental techniques, with special emphasis on mechanisms and control of meiotic regulation, mechanisms of chromosome segregation, meiotic DNA repair through homologous recombination, and quality control during gametogenesis.
