Conference Description
The Meiosis GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
The Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Meiosis is a premier forum for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to showcase their unpublished work, explore new methodologies, and exchange ideas. Through these in-depth discussions, trainees have the unique opportunity to establish lasting collaborative relationships within the meiosis research community.
Meiosis is a specialized form of cell division that ensures the formation of haploid gametes, a process essential for sexual reproduction. Research presented at this seminar will leverage diverse model organisms and cutting-edge experimental approaches to advance our understanding of this fundamental process. Areas of special interest include meiotic regulation, chromosome dynamics, recombination, and synapsis.
A key feature of the Meiosis GRS is its emphasis on mentorship and professional development. During interactive discussions, poster sessions, and trainee-led presentations, attendees will receive valuable feedback from senior scientists and peers. The meeting fosters an inclusive and supportive environment, empowering the next generation of meiosis researchers to drive innovation and discovery in the field.
An outline of the program components for this GRS is displayed below. The seminar chair is currently developing their detailed program schedule, which will include the speakers they select from submitted abstracts, in addition to any additional components outlined below. The detailed program will be available by April 7, 2026. Please check back for updates.
