Conference Description
The Membranes: Materials and Processes GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
The 2024 GRC Membrane: Materials and Processes is inspired by the immense opportunities to interlink disciplines and areas through unique membranes that could potentially revolutionize science and engineering contributions to improve the well-being of society in the 21st century. The conference will include four plenary sessions with a diversity of thought-provoking keynote speakers who will reflect the essence of the theme, Multidisciplinary Pathways for Membrane Separation Applications. The speakers will represent national and international backgrounds, including academia, research institutes, and industry. The primary topics of the conference will emphasize innovative interdisciplinary collaboration among industry, academia, and government labs to advance the electrochemical, biological, and chemical-based separation of critical elements for energy applications, the removal of forever chemicals (such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAs)), analytical techniques, and characterization of membrane-separated pharmaceuticals and endocrine disruptor environmental contaminants, as well as building blocks and nanomembrane synthesis applied to unthinkable interdisciplinary and collaborative applications. The GRC will also include the associated Gordon Research Seminar (GRS).
The topics, speakers, and discussion leaders for the conference sessions are displayed below. The conference chair is currently developing their detailed program, which will include the complete meeting schedule, as well as the talk titles for all speakers. The detailed program will be available by March 30, 2024. Please check back for updates.
