The Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology is being organized to promote interactions among molecular and cellular neuroscientists from the United States, Asia and Europe.

The first GRC in Asia covering neuroscience was held in September 1998 in Beijing, which has since received excellent reviews. The upcoming GRC in Hong Kong will be a continuation of that meeting and will integrate scientific principles that are of general interests to molecular and cellular neurobiologists, and encourage interactions between neurobiologists from different but related disciplines. Furthermore, this conference will combine the scientific excellence of the GRC and the strength of HKUST in organizing conferences in Asia. The conference will provide a unique opportunity for scientists from the US, Asia and Europe to communicate recent scientific findings and to explore new areas of international collaborations. Furthermore, the conference will provide an opportunity for active interaction among scientists in relation to advancing the frontiers of molecular and cellular neurobiology in Asia and the Pacific region.

The Conference will take place from June 4th to 8th, 2000 in the beautiful seaside campus of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong, China.

Inaugurated in 1991, the University is a technological university dedicated to the advancement of learning and scholarship, with special emphasis on research, postgraduate education, and close collaboration with business and industry. The University occupies an impressive 60-hectare site on the northern end of Clear Water Bay Peninsula at Tai Po Tsai.
