Conference Description
Due to increased demand and pricing associated with the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the Boston area, GRC strongly encourages attendees
to make travel arrangements early to help minimize associated travel costs. We anticipate limited availability of hotel rooms,
rental cars, and transportation options departing from Boston, so please plan accordingly.
As a cost-effective transportation option, we encourage attendees to consider the GRC bus service, which can be reserved directly
through your myGRC account. Space is limited.
If you require an extended stay, please contact your COA, as GRC has secured a limited number of discounted rooms at the Embassy Suites
Boston Logan Airport.
The Nanoscale Science and Engineering for Agriculture and Food Systems GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
This meeting will include three seminar sessions to cover interrelated categories of topics that pertain to the role of nanomaterials on overcoming current challenges associated with sustainable food production and agricultural practices, food safety and quality monitoring, and food security. We welcome research from a broad aspect of scientific topics related to: 1) nanomaterial design and synthesis rules for sustainable agricultural applications; 2) advances in nanomaterial applications in food systems; 3) advances in nanomaterial applications (eg., sensors, carriers, remediation, etc.) in agriculture, plant, and animal sciences.
These sessions will include in-depth discussions on the topics presented and how such contributions can lead to a sustainable future of nanoparticles in agriculture and food systems. An additional fourth session will be held in the form of a panel as a career development resource for the participants of the seminar. The format of this meeting will include three to four speakers per session with allocated time for discussion (Q&A), poster sessions to accommodate all participants, and many encounter opportunities to network.
An outline of the program components for this GRS is displayed below. The seminar chair is currently developing their detailed program schedule, which will include the speakers they select from submitted abstracts, in addition to any additional components outlined below. The detailed program will be available by April 28, 2026. Please check back for updates.
