Conference Description
The Neurobiology of Brain Disorders GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
The global challenge presented by neurodegenerative disorders is immense but the application of new molecular and cellular technologies is revealing important mechanistic insights. The temporal evolution of disease is being mapped at single-cell and tissue levels by multi-omic techniques. Key molecular interactions are being identified as drug targets and novel therapeutic approaches are being developed. These studies have highlighted disturbances in RNA metabolism, intracellular transport, proteostasis, inflammation and the role of aging. The 2024 Gordon Conference on Neurobiology of Brain Disorders will bring together research leaders from a wide range of disciplines to discuss their latest findings and how they might translate into new therapies. Invited speakers will be encouraged to present unpublished work and explore opportunities to collaborate. Junior scientists and graduate students are encouraged to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations, and engage key opinion leaders in discussion. GRC conferences are famously informal and popular and they are always oversubscribed so early registration and abstract submission is advised.
