Conference Description

The Gordon Research Seminar on Neuroethology: Behavior, Evolution & Neurobiology is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

Animal behavior is a closed loop system epitomized by the constant feedback between the detection of sensory stimuli, integration within the central nervous system, and motor output; with the motor output further influencing the processing of sensory stimuli.

Investigating these components and the closed loop formed by their reciprocal relationships poses a challenge for those interested in understanding the neural basis of behavior. This Neuroethology GRS aims to link these areas by bringing together graduate students and postdocs investigating sensory, integrative, and motor neuroscience in a neuroethological context. Understanding these multiple facets of behavior will allow us to think about truly "Closing the Loop".

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "Neuroethology: Behavior, Evolution and Neurobiology" Gordon Research Conference (GRC).
