Conference Description
The New Antibacterial Discovery and Development GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
Antibiotic resistance is a multi-faceted problem that continues growing world-wide. New approaches, as well as a redirection of old strategies, are needed to facilitate the discovery and development of new antibiotics and decrease antibiotic resistance. The Gordon Research Seminar on New Antibacterial Discovery and Development is a unique forum for early career scientists, such as graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, that allows the exchange of ideas through networking and collaboration with their peers. Attendees will have the opportunity to present and share their own results through an oral or poster presentation. Moreover, this meeting gives the opportunity to expand their knowledge in antibiotic discovery by sharing and discussing different approaches, new and old methods and current challenges. Trainees will have the opportunity to interact with senior researchers not only through a mentorship panel, but also through shared meals and interactions during their presentations. The goal of this meeting is that attendees will leave with an increased knowledge about their field and a growing network to collaborate with and more opportunities to grow their career.
