Mentorship Component: Making a Good First Impression: Why Cover Letters Are Important
The mentorship component for this GRS conference will be presented as a writing workshop. The writing workshop will include an initial Q&A session with the mentor panel (15-20 minutes) followed by a peer editing session of a current cover letter with feedback from the panel members and was designed to provide more interaction amongst the attendees as well as the mentors. The small group setting will facilitate discussion and hopefully more questions about the first step in advancing one’s career from the (post)doctoral stage, which is writing an outstanding cover letter.
Discussion Leader: Claire West (University of Cambridge, United Kingdom)
