The study of planetary origins has been stimulated in recent years by ongoing discoveries of extrasolar planets and planetary systems, increasingly detailed observations of protoplanetary disks, intense analysis of primitive materials from our own Solar System, and a growing body of theoretical work which seeks to understand the new data in terms of a coherent synthesis. The 2003 Gordon Research Conference on the Origins Of Solar Systems will bring together astrophysicists, planetary scientists and meteoriticists to explain and discuss the latest results in their respective fields, debate the merits of competing models and theories, and chart the direction of future investigations. The emphasis will be on communication across disciplines and the fostering innovative collaboration. The program is listed below.
