The Composition and Assembly of Planets

The Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Origins of Solar Systems is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas across the fields of astronomy, astrophysics, cosmochemistry, planetary science, and geochemistry.

This year’s GRS will explore topics including, but not limited to, the detection and characterization of exoplanets, the structure and chemical composition of protoplanetary and debris disks and planets, theoretical and observational insights into planet formation processes, new results from recent space missions to Solar System bodies, the formation history of our own Solar System, and biosignatures and potential habitability of exoplanets. The meeting will begin with an invited keynote talk to provide attendees with the necessary background knowledge to maximize their engagement in the GRS and subsequent GRC. All participants are encouraged to submit poster abstracts, and talks will be selected from the submissions. The meeting will also emphasize mentorship of early career participants on developing career trajectories. We hope to make travel support available to as many participants as possible.
