The Parkinson's Disease GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
The Parkinson’s Disease GRS is an unparalleled platform for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to showcase their groundbreaking work, delve into innovative methods, cutting-edge ideas, and pre-published data, and forge collaborative bonds with their peers. This vibrant forum is designed for active engagement, where experienced mentors and trainee moderators spark lively scientific discussions, ensuring that every attendee is an active participant rather than a passive observer.
Held immediately before the main Gordon Research Conference (GRC), the two-day Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Parkinson’s Disease unites trainee scientists from diverse neuroscience disciplines and varied professional backgrounds around the pivotal theme of “Immune Mechanisms and Neurological Dysfunction in Parkinson’s Disease” This meeting is all about bridging gaps—across disciplines, between academic, government, and industry researchers—creating a rich tapestry of collaboration and innovation.
Despite the varied research interests at the GRS, the common goal of advancing medical research and unraveling the complexities of Parkinson’s disease draws together some of the brightest young minds in the field. This seminar is a golden opportunity for graduate and post-doctoral trainees to present their research and engage in a top-tier conference.
The 2025 GRS promises an exciting lineup, with trainees participating in platform, poster, and patient presentations. A career panel featuring scientists from academia, industry, and foundations will provide invaluable insights into diverse career paths. The scientific focus will cover the entire spectrum of Parkinson’s disease research, from identifying critical biomarkers to developing and implementing bench-side treatments. Attendees will explore molecular and cellular dysfunctions, circuit pathologies, and innovative therapeutics designed to combat and reduce these challenges.
Get ready to be inspired, challenged, and connected at the 2025 Parkinson’s Disease GRS—where the journey from biomarkers to bench-side treatment takes center stage!
Application Instructions
The seminar will feature approximately 10 talks and 2 poster sessions. All attendees are expected to actively participate in the GRS, either by giving an oral presentation or presenting a poster. Therefore, all applications must include an abstract.
The seminar chair will select speakers from abstracts submitted by March 2, 2025. Those applicants who are not chosen for talks and those who apply after the deadline to be considered for an oral presentation will be expected to present a poster.
