Welcome to the 2007 Gordon Research Conference on the Physics and Chemistry of Microfluidics!

This conference will take place from July 15th through 20th, 2007, at the Waterville Valley Resort in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire. This venue is situated in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire, and will provide a perfect backdrop for a relaxed exchange of ideas and plenty of creative scientific discussion.

This is the 4th biennial GRC on the physics and chemistry of microfluidics, a series of conferences which, since 2001, has been dedicated to advancing our understanding of the science of micro- and nanofluidics. The 2007 GRC on Microfluidics will continue this tradition, with sessions devoted to the fundamental phenomena that underpin microfluidic and nanofluidic systems. Sessions focusing on exciting new application areas for microfluidics ranging from fuel cells to nanobiotechnology will also be included.

In the past, this has been a dynamic conference with enthusiastic participation by all speakers and attendees. Emphasis is placed on the presentation of unpublished work, with an eye to promoting active discussion among all participants. If you have not previously attended the Microfluidics Gordon Conference, we believe that you will find this to be a unique and stimulating forum. The Microfluidics GRC is an excellent opportunity for junior researchers (including graduate students and post doctoral fellows) to interact closely with more senior researchers. The GRC also provides an ideal opportunity for thought-provoking discussion of innovative research directions and a chance to form ties with other researchers working in this field.
