The Plasma Processing Science GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
To preserve this open and candid exchange of ideas, the meeting follows a strict off-the-record policy: no abstracts will be published online, and photography during scientific sessions is prohibited. The 2026 GRS will spotlight the latest advances in the science and engineering of plasma–material interactions, bridging fundamental studies with a diverse array of applications.
Core topics will include plasma–liquid interfaces, nanoscale fabrication, advanced surface modification processes, and emerging plasma technologies in agriculture, biomedicine, and sustainable energy, with a growing interest in developing artificial intelligence to enhance plasma control, diagnostics, and deepen our understanding across all plasma applications. All participants are encouraged to share their research during dedicated poster sessions, fostering rich scientific dialogue and networking opportunities.
In addition, a select number of outstanding poster presenters will be invited to deliver oral presentations, enabling them to showcase their work to a broader audience and promote deeper technical discussions. A dedicated mentorship component will explore career pathways in plasma-based research, spanning academic appointments, national laboratory positions, and industrial R&D roles. This session will feature a panel of experts from both academia and industry, who will share their insights and experiences to help guide participants in shaping their professional trajectories.
