Conference Description

The Gordon Research Seminar on Plasminogen Activation and Extracellular Proteolysis is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

The meeting will focus on recent bench findings and their translation into therapeutics. Presentations will cover but are not limited to plasminogen activator and proteases in cardiovascular and thrombotic disorders, metabolic disease and aging, neurological and cerebrovascular diseases, immunological disorders, tissue remodeling and regeneration, trauma, and cancer. Bringing together a multidisciplinary background of scientists from different countries, the GRS will be a platform for young investigators to interact with senior scientists and faculties to discuss their research and build professional networks.

There will be a special session composed of:

1- A keynote speaker addressing emerging techniques in the study of the plasminogen activation system and their impact on the development of new therapeutics.

2- A mentoring session: preparing for a career after your Ph.D. or Postdoc. This session is designed to help graduate students and postdocs choose a suitable career path after their training. Panelists will be from both academia and industry.

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "Plasminogen Activation and Extracellular Proteolysis" Gordon Research Conference (GRC).
