Emerging Roles of RNA in Gene Regulation

During the 2022 Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Post-Transcriptional Gene Regulation, early-career scientists will discuss ideas and data at the forefront of post-transcriptional gene regulation. This seminar aims to provide a unique opportunity for graduate students and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, interact with colleagues, establish collaborations and shape the field. It is a great opportunity to network with junior colleagues and senior investigators at the associated Gordon Research Conference (GRC) from all over the world. All the talks and session leaders will be selected from abstracts submitted by junior scientists. In addition, attendees will benefit from a career panel representing a diverse range of scientific careers and trajectories (e.g. academia, industry, journal editing, etc.) to explore different paths to potential future careers.

The 2022 GRS will convene approximately 15 speakers representing key areas of emerging roles of RNA in gene regulation. The seminar will focus on new mechanisms of post-transcriptional gene regulation. Such as, new mechanisms to regulate classical mRNA processing, new or unusual post-transcriptional RNA processing steps, unprecedented coupling or crosstalk between RNA processing steps, novel roles of ncRNAs in post-transcriptional gene regulation and disease-specific mechanisms. Trainees working on these and other aspects of RNA-mediated gene regulation are invited to submit an abstract describing their unpublished work. All talks will be chosen from abstract submissions. The poster sessions will allow all participants that submitted abstracts to present their research and get feedback from their peers. The overall goal of the GRS is to create a collegial, inclusive and trainee-focused environment to facilitate the scientific and career development of seminar attendees.
