Conference Description
The Robotics GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
The Gordon Research Seminars provide a unique opportunity for young researchers in all disciplines, from all over the world, to meet and discuss novel developments in rapidly changing scientific and engineering fields. This seminar will be the second Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) dedicated to robotics. It will highlight the potential impact of cutting-edge robotics research and foster a discussion on when it is best to use hard or soft materials in our designs, or how to best combine the two.
We aim to bring together innovative, interdisciplinary thinkers to share ideas about the most pressing and meaningful problems that robotics researchers will need to overcome in the next decade to transform how robots interact with humans and their environment. Building a network of young roboticists fluent in cross-cutting research themes will create a foundation for advancing the field far into the future with profound implications for robot interactions and performance.
