The Scientific Methods in Cultural Heritage Research GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
This fifth Gordon Research Seminar on Scientific Methods in Cultural Heritage Research is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other young research scientists with comparable levels of experience and education, to present and exchange cutting edge research solutions for problems related to the preservation of global Cultural Heritage.
Topics of interest within the seminar include, but are not limited to:
-Advances in scientific techniques for preventative conservation
-Fundamental investigations on heritage material degradation pathways
-Accessibility of cutting-edge instrumentation to museum professionals
-Greener methods of cleaning with solvents for the conservation profession
The content of the presentations along with the format of the seminar will encourage communication among emerging professionals in the diverse fields that impact Cultural Heritage science.
